Overcoming Hurdles... A Moment of Reflection
Over the past few days, I've really been reflecting on the progress of TinCan. I think as a company we are really starting to gel together. As we progress, we've been getting more and more enthusiastic about the material, which in turn is putting us all on similar wavelengths. I think we all have an idea, all be it rough, of what we want. We can all envision the final product in our minds and the final product is the same for each of us. The studio is beginning to feel like home and when we walk through the doors, it welcomes us with warmth and safety. We no longer have to settle into the work, it just comes to us and we begin creating. When presenting an idea to the rest of the company, that initial feeling of fear has gone. We all accept and try each other's ideas and welcome them with enthusiasm. It's a truly great feeling.
The last few weeks have been tough, we've battled through illness that did the rounds, personal crisis' as well as other academic work that is running alongside this. We all have dissertations to write, which I will talk about in a later post! Sometimes that has become a bit of a distraction and there have been moments where the frustrations of other things going on have made their way into the rehearsal space. But we've dealt with them with professionalism and support and are slowly learning how to separate the personal from the work.
Things are going in the right direction for TinCan and exciting times are ahead.
