A Change of Heart...

After rehearsals this weekend, we've had quite a big development for our upcoming performance. We have chosen to scrap the office storyline from the piece altogether. We found that the thing we wanted to really tackle was the refugee crisis and the office storyline was taking the seriousness and integrity of that away. As there was no script, the material didn't feel of any quality and kind of felt similar to work we had all done at GCSE level! But we would not have got to where we were if it hadn't been for that office thread. It gave us the confidence to get up on our feet and explore our ideas through a method we felt comfortable with. But it also felt really good to release it, as it was beginning to hold us back. It was a really important moment for us as theatre makers, as we sat down and really evaluated the material we had and realised that it just wasn't that good. So although a sad moment (we'd really begun to grow attached to those characters!) a huge moment for us in terms of overall development. So now we've got a lot of catching up to do!

Stay tuned for more updates on what comes next!
