Taylor Roper

Theatre Company based in Cornwall, UK.

Taylor Roper is a music lover, performer, director and professional vocal artist from Plymouth. From an early age she has had a growing intrest in the arts. From the age of 5 she was a member of The Wranglers theatre company for ten years and got to explore theatre and voice work. Taylor has played main roles and also had ensemble roles. During her time in education she was a member of many extra curricular activities such as choirs and school shows. 

 

Over the years she has performed in many charity events for charities such as Help for Heroes, St lukes and local Plymouth charities such as Bethany Forget Me Not Wishes. Over the past ten years Taylor has raised over £7,000. Taylor has also performed for radio stations for instance  BBC South West and Heart Radio Plymouth. Her proudest achievements in regards to charity work was when she used sign language in a variety show to raise funds for the National Association of Deaf People. Before she moved for her studies she was a member of a Plymouth local record label New Atlantic Records where she recorded her own songs, music videos and released an EP. 

 

During her time at Falmouth University Taylor has got to be part of many opportunities for instance a channel 4 documentary Frozen at Christmas, The mob choir and has been a member in many devised pieces. Taylors speciality in devising is based on current serious issues, her first year performance at Falmouth was based on emotional and physical abuse, her second year performance Daniels Auditorium was focused on gay rights and her third year final performance Home Is The Mouth Of A Shark will be focused on the  refugee crisis. 

 

Taylors proudest achievement at Falmouth University was her  PIC (practice in context) module. In this module she  worked in primary and secondary schools around Cornwall and led  vocal and devising workshops. She wanted the students to devise pieces that they felt were important and to be creative. In September 2016 Taylor will studying a PGCE at Plymouth University to become a secondary school drama teacher.
